Missing ATV reports up in wake of Mud Nationals

Mud Nationals draws a big load to east Texas every year, but now that the fun is all over, officials with the Cherokee County Sheriff's department tell KETK there's always a downside: missing ATVs. John Raffield with the Cherokee County Sheriff's area says it happens every year.  "People get their ATVs stuck at 3 in the morning. they can't get them out, their friends are nowhere around, so they'll it at whatever mud pit it got stuck at and map on coming back to get it the next morning. And when they return, somebody else has pulled it out for them and taken it. ". This year, Raffield says the Sherriff's subdivision has received 13 reports of missing ATVs so far, and one truck. "Sometimes people are also quite intoxicated and they'll run out of gas or get stuck somewhere, and they'll start troublesome to walk back to their camp and forget exactly where they've parked it," Raffield said.
