Fontaine, the sphere’s largest manufacturer of pressed steel and cast fifth wheels, will announce two unique coupling systems at this year’s CV Show: a sensor-operated fifth wheel to aware the driver in the event of safety clip or handle... Once the ignition is switched on, the system self-checks sensor functions, showing a verdant light with a short beep until the trailer is coupled. Mis-coupling is alerted by a flashing red light and continuous beep. Once the ruler pin sensor detects the king pin, amber and red lights will illuminate until the correct coupling procedure is complete. However, if the protection clip or handle become displaced, an internal and external red LED light and intermittent alarm will sound.
