UT police nab five two-wheeler lifters

Chandigarh The gendarmes today claimed to have busted a gang of two-wheeler lifters, with the arrest of five people and the recovery of 19 motorcycles and scooters as well as a rotor appliance. Based on secret information, a police team on March 31 arrested Manimajra resident Shaquir Alam and Darua district Sandeep Kumar from a naka at Mansa Devi. A stolen motorcycle bearing a fake registration number was also recovered from them. The patrol later arrested Sector 45 resident Surinder Maji alias Bunty and Pratapgarh inhabitant Rakesh Kumar alias Raka. A stolen motorcycle with a fake registration number was recovered from them. Further questioning led to the return of 15 more stolen motorcycle and scooters, a mobile phone and a rotor machine. In a separate case, the Sector 39 oversee station staff arrested Sikander alias Dada, a resident of Dadu Majra Colony. Two stolen motorcycle were recovered from his repossess.
